The first foal by Farmstead's Cotton Top Mounts and we could not be any happier. SAMD Lady Nightingale, Birdie, is truly one spectacular little jennet. She is a daughter of HHAA Smitten, making her a half-sister of our very successful show jack, HHAA Smitten's Tennessee Mojo. She has a fantastic bite, straight legs, a refined head, and a very square body. We clipped her at 4 months old and could not believe just how wide she was.

Birdie's lineage has become very exclusive. On her Sire's side, her Grand Sire was shipped to Australia, after only having 2 foals born within the United States: one being Cotton Top and the other being his half-sister. Cotton Top's very achieved Dam, Frontier Legend's Cinna, has only ever produced Cotton Top. His family tree is full of successful donkeys whose bloodlines are only getting harder to come by. He is a treasure that we are very grateful to have.

Although we own Birdie's half-brother, Mojo, we have decided to keep her as a brood jennet prospect. Their dam, Smitten, has only ever produced two jennets. We love her so much that we really wanted to also keep a jennet from her. With us owning two other jacks, who are completely unrelated to Mojo, Cotton Top, and Smitten... it is possible for us to keep both a son and daughter from Smitten.

So, as of right now, Birdie will be watched and will be highly considered as a brood jennet for our farm. Her build is exactly what we are aiming for, plus her extreme intelligence. We are looking forward to watching her mature.
