A Bit About Cobalt!
Once again... another WOW foal! At 4:30 am, Cobalt took his first breath. About an hour after he was born, I realized that he was going to be sharing his birthday with his amazing dam, HHAA Sweet Tooth (Pixie).
Cobalt is the first foal produced by BOTH HHAA Sweet Tooth and our young jack SAMD Ziggy Stardust. We could not be more thrilled. He has great legs, a wide chest, his gums are aligned, and he definitely appears to have inherited his sire's wooly genetics! Cobalt has extremely long whiskers and he has long ear hair. In the next few weeks, we should be able to see more.
This little boy's parents both have fully completed pedigrees. They come from a line of some fantastic donkeys. He received the name "Cobalt Blue" as a tribute to his Champion great grand sire, HHAA Black n Blue, who has resided in Australia, for several years now. Cobalt's sire and dam both have been successful in the show ring... with Ziggy winning the 2024 Music City Show Reserve ACOSA Champion and the 2024 SC State Fair Reserve Champion Jack, at only 1.5 years old. Both Ziggy and Pixie have also excelled in the trail classes. Pixie has been known to do obstacles (like teeter totters) at liberty, while training, as well. She has been a part of several different events and has done great. Ziggy has also been a part of several events and even was in a wedding in 2024.
Cobalt is already a very sweet and friendly boy. I know I say this with all of our foals... but he is seriously going to make a fantastic little donkey for someone. He comes from an amazing line of donkeys- some of which would be very difficult to get ahold of their bloodline now.
We do require that our donkeys go to a home that provides another donkey as a companion... preferably same sex. If you are interested in Cobalt, contact us for more information.
All of our foals prices included gelding (if they are a jack (unless discussed otherwise in depth)), vaccinations, boosters, rabies, negative coggins, several foal de-worming's, several hoof trims, health certificates (if they are leaving TN), etc. We give copies of and handle transferring MDR or ADR papers, and ACOSA papers (if they are spotted) into new owner's name. We also handle our foals A LOT. We pick up their hooves, starting at a day old... teach them to lead, stand tied, do some fun obstacle training, trailer loading, etc. Whether our donkeys go to show homes, therapy programs, pet homes, etc... we find all of this to be very important, to build a strong foundation, for them to be confident in their new homes.
