A Bit About Ramble!
Everyone meet SAMD McGavic's Keep 'em Talkin (Ramble)! Yes, he has two farm names... and that's because he's the product of a collaboration, that we did with our great friend's at McGavic Middle TN Minis!
Although he was born at only 19.5" tall, he is a big boned, stocky foal! We don't have many micros... however, when we breed them, Ramble is a perfect example of our goal. Even if our donkeys are under 30", we like to keep their bodies strong and wide. Ramble has great legs, he currently has an even bite, and he has an adorable head. He will be a micro.
In addition to his build, Ramble has two other things going for him. He is a NLP (No Light Points), which is recessive. He also appears to have obtained the wooly gene. His sire, Ziggy, was born with lots of hair. He has been clipped, a multitude of times, for showing. This year, we have decided not to show him. As we've been letting his hair stay natural, his mane is beginning to part ways and looks like it will fall. Ziggy's dam, HHAA Dream of Genie, is a wooly. She has an 8" long forelock and mane. Why we say he appears to have the wooly genetics is due to his long whiskers and long ear hair. Time will tell if he is actually a wooly.
His sire, Ziggy, is a successful show donkey. He has won Reserve ACOSA Champion, Reserve Champion Halter Jack at just 1.5 years old, and more. Ziggy is only 28 3/4" tall but EXTREMELY big boned. His dam, HHAA Dream of Genie, has a more limited pedigree. She was 1 of only 2 foals produced by her dam, with one of them now residing in Australia. Her beloved sire, HHAA Black 'n' Blue, has also been residing in Australia, for several years. Her pedigree has become harder to obtain in the USA.
Ramble's dam, S & B Minis Lollipop, is an adorable, 28 1/2", dark gray w/NLP. She was one of the last remaining favorite jennets, at Continental Donkeys, before Wayne Schuetz passed away. Our friends with McGavic Middle TN Minis purchased her, after his passing. Although Lolli is small, she also has an amazing build.
Ramble's pedigree includes Donkette Korral Kryptonie, Donkette Korral Bandit, Ozark Little Red Ninja, Heiken's Ark Achilles, Circle C Main Event, Itsy Bitsy Front and Center, HHAA Black 'n' Blue, Sunset Acres Junebug, Li'l Angels Indiana Jones, Itsy Bitsy Burro Co. Mr. Playbill (wooly), LCR Valentino 50, Circle C Canadian Gold, Short ASSets Star's War, Sunset Acres Black Onyx, PMF Total Eclipse, and many more.
Ramble IS available. We might take our time to watch him grow, as we believe he might make a great Micro (possible wooly) Herd Sire for a farm. We are just not rushing to sell him as one, since we should be set up to watch and see how he matures... before making that decision. However, if you are interested in him, make sure to let us know.
We do require that our donkeys go to a home that provides another donkey as a companion... preferably same sex. If you are interested in Ramble, contact us for more information.
All of our foals prices include gelding (if they are a jack (unless discussed otherwise in depth)), vaccinations, boosters, rabies, negative coggins, several foal de-worming's, several hoof trims, health certificates (if they are leaving TN), etc. We give copies of and handle transferring MDR or ADR papers, and ACOSA papers (if they are spotted) into new owner's name. We also handle our foals A LOT. We pick up their hooves, starting at a day old... teach them to lead, stand tied, do some fun obstacle training, trailer loading, etc. Whether our donkeys go to show homes, therapy programs, pet homes, etc... we find all of this to be very important, to build a strong foundation, for them to be confident in their new homes.
