A Bit About Wynx!

Everyone meet SAMD Peaky Blinders (a.k.a. “Wynx”)! Wynx was born on St. Patrick’s Day, just before midnight!

Since the day he was born, Wynx has been looking very promising. He has straight legs, a beautiful head, a straight back, and a nice bite. He is a copy paste version of his sire, with a stunning steel gray/brown coat... while also having a striking, thick cross. Although I love the excitement of waiting on spots, I was really hoping he’d be Murphy’s beautiful color.

Wynx is not your typical weanling jack. Just like his sire, he has a VERY calm and kicked back temperament. He was originally purchased as a herd sire prospect; however, after a few weeks of being in his new home, we have just brought him back to our farm (11/12/2025). Sadly, his owner's circumstances had suddenly and drastically changed, so we welcomed him back to our farm. It was due to no fault of his own. They have had to completely sell out their herd. Since he was being raised as a herd sire prospect, he was not overly "spoiled." He is extremely respectful and patiently waits for attention. He is one of those donkeys that I would say is "born broke" or naturally talented. He is EXTREMELY willing and has always been very easy to work with. He trots walks and trots great on a lead, backs, goes through plastic pools, over teeter totters, ground poles, etc. He will even let you walk him up and onto an obstacle, drop the lead and tell him "stand," walk all around him, come back and pick up the lead, and he will stand completely still until you ask him to move.

Due to his pedigree, conformation, and extremely outstanding temperament... we would consider reselling him as a herd sire prospect. However, we are also happy to geld him, at our expense, and sell him as a gelding.

His grand dam’s pedigree, on dam’s side, is all Cobra. Also on dam’s pedigree, her sire is Li’l Angel’s Indiana Jones, who is a producer of many champions while also being a champion himself. Sire’s pedigree also includes older lines... including Arrow Creek Hudini, Dewey Meadows Valentino, Dewey Meadows Primo, N&D’s donkeys, and more!

Murphy, Wynx’s sire, was our very first donkey. He is known as “the jack with the gelding personality.” Murphy has always been very easy to work with. We showed him in 2023. He was tied for High Point, until the driving started. Murphy was not trained to drive... so I went ahead and taught him! In 2025, he came back into the show ring. He is now a 2x High Point Champion. He has thankfully passed on his amazing temperament to all of his foals and Wynx definitely has many of his traits. Donna, Wynx’s dam, also has an amazing temperament. She does just about everything we challenge her with. She is one of our event burros that will carry a pack saddle and baskets. Wynx's half sister, Mirage, is one of our very successful show donkeys. In 2025, at the Honky Tonk Miniature Donkey Extravaganza, she brought home Reserve Junior Halter Champion and NMDA Pre-Green High Point Champion. For the SC State Fair Donkey and Mule Show, she won Junior Halter Champion and NMDA Reserve Pre-Green High Point. Wynx has shown A LOT of the same potential that his family members have.

If you are interested in Wynx, make sure to reach out and let us know. He is very special to us but we sadly will be letting him go.

To explain his name… we attended the Wayne Lyon Miniature Donkey Clinic. We actually brought Donna to the clinic, since it was hosted at our friend's farm, just in case she foaled during the clinic. While going over parts of the harness, we came across the harness piece that can be called Blinders, Blinkers, or Winkers. I said, “Winkers would be a cute donkey name.” We all joked throughout the weekend saying that Winkers hadn’t been born yet.

The day after the clinic, right before St. Patrick’s Day ended, our “Winkers” was born. We decided to call him Wynx. While thinking of a registration name that possibly had some tie to the Irish, I immediately thought of one of my mom and I’s favorite shows… Peaky Blinders. The show was based off of an Irish gang… so that, plus the Blinders, fits right with our fun weekend and St. Patrick’s Day! And fun fact: the main actor in the show is Cillian Murphy and SAMD Murphy is Wynx’s dad
