A Bit About Mayzie!

After 400 days of Ember being pregnant... we were finally able to meet our first Jennet foal! Mayzie is very petite and quite the Showstopper. She might just be the most uniquely spotted foal we will ever have.

When thinking about her name, we decided to go with an "M" name... because one of our herd sires, Mojo, and our good friend's newborn jennets, Missy and Mimi, all have a very similar pattern. They have now gained the nickname "The Bag of M&M's."

With her being born in May, we could not have come up with a more fitting name... Lovely Lady May. She is dainty, sweet natured, very easy to fall for, and truly one of a kind. Mayzie is beyond perfect with her beautifully straight legs and a perfect bite... just like her half-brother SAMD Ziggy Stardust.

With her Dam being 30.25" and her Sire being 29", there is a possibility that she will mature to be a larger micro mini (since Dam's first foals are also usually on the smaller side). Micro's are under 30". Mayzie was born at 19.5" tall.... putting her at only a quarter of an inch taller than our 25" yearling micro jennet, Gummi's, birth height.

We recently realized that Mayzie has two somatic mutations... making her tri-colored! She has a small black spot on her back right leg and a large black spot on the tip of her left ear (pictured on right).

Mayzie's Pedigree includes the well sought after Cobra's, Circle C Black Russian, Short Asset's Cowboy, TTW Cowboy's Kalamazoo, and more!

We have decided that, as of right now, we will be retaining Mayzie. We are very excited to say that she will be continuing to live here at Southern Asspitality and we look forward to our future with her.
